Crap!

I just discovered quite a few of the early photos were linked to the old MetalMeet gallery and when they lost their site...my photos were gone along with the entire saga.

I'm really glad that I had backed up the saga.

Fortunately I have the photos on my hard drive but it will take me some time to attach them to the old posts.

Finally some progress. Got the chassis slicked and painted, new brake lines run, leak tested, the motor/tranny reinstalled, and the radiator in.

I ordered braided brake lines from Pure Choice Supposedly they have a firmer feel at the pedal.

When the inner frame brace was added the motor mounts had to be reworked. Grant should still like them though because there isn't a straight line anywhere.

Ray Ferguson is enlarging the center hole on my wire wheels. Looking forward to seeing them on the car. Should get it running tomorrow if life doesn't get in the way.

Looking good Kerry.

What a difference when you got a nice coat of paint on the frame.

I finally got all the way thru your build Kerry. It is a beautifully shapped and styled roadster. You and all of the people that have helpped do very nice work. Thanks for documenting the entire trip. I look forward to watching the rest of thr build.

Seems like it takes forever to make a tiny bit of progress.

Installed the drive shaft and modified the rear ujoint scatter shield (to protect the gas tank).

Installed the gas tank, ran a 3/8 hard line for the fuel instead of 8' of rubber gas line. Remounted the temporary battery tray, charged the battery, and hit the starter. The motor cranked over a few times to get gas to the carb and started right up.. I love it when that happens.

Also picked up the wire wheels and tires from Ray. They really look good.

I've got to make a new line for the hydraulic clutch, reinstall the floor pans, tranny tunnel, and drive shaft tunnel, and I'll be able to drive it around the block. Shooting for this week on that. Gotta get going...running out of time before the meet.

FINALLY got the car put back together enough to drive around the block. Then I took it into town and had a 4 wheel alignment done. It wasn't out much from spec but now at least I know that the wheels are where they need to be and I can finish the wheel openings on the body.

Unloaded the car today and thought I'd snap a couple photos of the wire wheels and new tires. The tires are Firestones and slightly smaller than what I had previously.

I'll start re-hanging the sheet metal tomorrow.

Kerry, I like the look of those wheels. Can't wait to see it with the sheet metal on it.

That made a huge difference and the metal is not even on it yet.
