A/C line material
Does anyone know the what aluminum is used for ac lines and blocks usually? I need to weld a couple lines to some blocks and want to make sure to use the correct alloy. Thanks

I have used 6061. I believe it was T4 because I had a lot of bends to make. The fittings were 6061 and welded with 4043. I know that Kent sells aluminum brazing materials. I would imagine that it would be a good means of attaching fittings. My only thought on that is if the heat from a torch for brazing would soften the threads. Don't know about that. Perhaps Kent can add his thoughts.

Thanks Rick and Kent I ended up welding it up with 4043. I was wondering if brazing is the preferred method for joining tube and fittings. I didn’t have anything to do it with and it was a quickie job so I didn’t, but I’d love to hear any input on the subject.
