Default Posting pictures as attachments

I'll start with a tutorial on posting pictures as attachments on AllMetalShaping.com.

This tutorial assumes you are using the WYSIWYG editor, which is the default, but can be changed in the User CP. If there are any questions about the editor, let me know and I'll show how to change to the WYSIWYG editor if needed.

Ok, when posting a message, your editor will look like this:

attachment000.jpg

Clicking on the Paper Clip icon (highlighted in the above picture) the first time brings up the "Manage Attachments" window:

attachment001.jpg

Clicking on the "Browse" button will open up an Explorer window to allow you to navigate to where your pictures are stored:

attachment002.jpg

Looks like I forgot a couple of pics...I'll fix that in a bit.

Select the file you want to upload as an attachment by clicking on it and clicking "Open" (or just double-clicking on the file). Once you have all of your attachments uploaded, you can click on the "Close This Window" button at the bottom of the "Manage Attachments" window.

In your message, after uploading, when you click the paper clip icon, it shows a drop down list of all attachments. The drop down list allows you to select the file you wish to insert into your post:

The resulting BB code looks like this:
attachment004.jpg

Your images are now attached inline. There are a couple of tricks for working with multiple images that I will show in a bit.

If you just want to have your photos show up in a row without selecting them one at a time, just click on the paperclip icon. You will see your list of photos and at the bottom of the list INSERT ALL. Position your curser where you want it in your post, then move your mouse up and click on INSERT ALL. When you select preview or change, your photos will show up.

Thanks for this thread, sometimes the picture attachment can be a trial and error kind of thing. Now for the trial, here's a picture of my modified H.F. bead roller

Bob, you follow the directions and screen shots like Tim showed in the first post of the thread. You have to be in the advanced editor and click on the paperclip, then browse for the photo on your PC, then upload, then attach to your post. Just like the screen shots shows.
