Thanks all for the interest, much appreciated. I've managed to get a little more work done on the shocker/spring mounts. Will try and post some pics of them tomorrow.

I am following along with your rebuild .
I also raced a bug-eye back in '62 that had a damaged right front corner that was supossedly fixed (not) by the local Austin dealer in Toronto. Had the front shock up on a stack of washers with an all-thread bolt. Woiuldn't do right hand corners worth s**t. But still came in third in class.
