More adjusting, a little at a time until it almost "snaps" onto the buc and lays flat without clamping.
Next I started another paper pattern for the other two pieces involved in this area. Paper patterns are not ideal for this but I don't want to foam the buck for a FSP. If I were doing that, I could probably make this portion in one piece. While I was deciding how I would dissect this area I was thinking about that Monaro quarter panel that Peter banged out in one piece. Unbelievable, I'm still humbled by seeing that. My hat is off to you, sir.

Next I started shaping the lower portion of the inboard corner. Nothing too difficult. Alternating between the steel wheel and PU wheel. I got it as far as I could until the upper half is done.
Next, the upper half. This was a little more complex. I divided this area up to minimize the amount of complexity in any one panel but it's still there. I'm pretty close now. They still need some trimming and final tweeking but that's enough for today. I like the size and shape of the tail light and bumper. It's a little easier to envision when it's fleshed out.

It is, Kerry. I went full circle. I started off in a garage 36 years ago and I'll finish up in a garage. I'm home. I'm where I belong and it feels good.

The advantage to being a lousy welder is that you learn to be a great grinder.

That metal is going on well Jack. Great to see the progress being made after all the hard work on the buck.

Congrats
Jack, This is an awesome build. Congrats of MSOTM!!! If I could ask, what brand is your deep shrinker, what did it cost, and do you like it.

Shawn, mine had a national Industries label on it but I've seen this model with a few different labels.Probably Chinese crap. This one works OK considering I work almost exclusively with 18 gage steel. It does flex some but It does the job. I think I paid $100 or $150 for it used about 6 years ago. If you are considering a deep shrinker and are on a tight budget I would recommend the one Eastwood has for around $350. I've used one and it is a rigid machine. It's not as deep as mine but it's rare that I need any more than 2 or three inches of depth.
