Default different kind of piano hinge

I am re- making a hood for a 1918 truck that I forgot the name of.Any way all I got to go on were the remains of the original hood.I thought it wouldnt be any big deal making a simple piano hinge with my Magna-bend.But after further inspection I noticed that the hinge had a return on the back side.First I did some careful measuring and proceded with my layout.I needed correct placement of the tongues on all three panels and they required a nice square corner and there was several of them,so I decide to use my turret punch with a 1" square dies.I had a linear slide fixture I used on someother project,so I hooked it up and measured my depth and puched out the lateral cut.after that I used my band saw and cut the other dirrection. Then what I did was put the rod in the correct place on the brake to get my correct radius, after that I placed it on the edge of the bench, clamped it down and secured on either side of the tongues.I then used a slapper to lay it down enough to get to the next step.I was careful to use the heel of my slapper so the energy of the blows was placed close to the inside wire edge.I then made a setting die for the Pulmax to finish closing the tongue and allowing for the return tab.I ran the panel through in 3 stages and the final results were very satisfying.Dan

Dan, nice job on the hinge. What size rod are you using? Magna bends are wonderful brakes and very easy to use. Thanks for posting the pictures of the project.
