If you were to go this route, do not use the "Great Stuff" spray can. I found out on a fiberglass plug project that it will shrink back some. I ended up using this stuff

I got a couple of old jars and split the contents so I could mix up just what I needed and it cures much stiffer.

I have had excellent luck pulling forms from other cars by first covering the part being copied with masking tape, then coating the tape in fiberglass or bondo. After it hardens, just pull the mold off the tape. Masking tape basically has release agent built in do it won't stick to itself. Get the slickest tape you can find. I used 3m, but others may be better.
After removal of the "mold", you can reproduce the part using the same material or others.
I used to make parts this way for fiberglass cars, but no reason you couldn't use it to reproduce a buck.
