With a solid weekend of help, laughs and tutelage from my bud and metal man extraordinaire Ben Starr, got the front section of the roof and upper section of the cowl (+80%) made and all 3 panels of the roof welded together and dialed in. Getting the roof and the cowl to flow into each other through the flat planes for the split glass was quite the challenge! Ben and Wray have been perfecting a fusion welding technique that produced really beautiful welds and planished in seconds on the wheel. I'm going to have to hit a lot more practice panels on the technique to be ready for prime time.

Must be pretty hard to stay focused with all those other projects in the shop. Good to see you back on it, Ira!

Hammer Stretch Weekend!!! Roughed in the rear deck lid and driver's quarter panel. QP went back and forth to the wheel and the hammer at least 20 times, each time looked like below.

I am sure ill see you at Wrays - ill need to bring parts-n-pieces up. I have to learn more about tipping, flanging etc. My welding/finishing needs some instruction too.

It is really neat seeing you're car with sheet metal. I am working on my bulkheads and inner structure - building it from the outside in.....guess there is no easy way!
