A few minute filing and dressing and it looks like this...

A few more minutes and I have a good metal finish.

A light scurf and the panel is finished...

Still needs a little work.

Please don't ever think that we don't enjoy your work David!

The simplicity and accuracy with which you and Peter T. describe metal-forming, is an absolute inspiration to beginners such as myself!

Cheers Charlie

Very nice, David.
I've enjoyed seeing the progress of the piece and where you trim and join the two parts together.

The gas welding method you show in your DVD certainly is reasonable to do. I was surprised with the test welds I did, especially compared to the way I used to do it, which seemed to always involve major warping and many bad words.

I've managed to put up a 10'x20' tent garage for my T and have been picking away at it a bit. Welding has to be done outside. Money is tight so no real garage is in my immediate future. But it's finally under cover.

That T you got from Norfolk is in better shape than any old car you would find in this part of the world.

Have fun,
Joe

Thanks Joe I am glad that you have managed to at least get somewhere to work. I have always had to rent even when I did this as a hobby because space is tight here in the UK and most people don't even have a single car garage. I hope you can make some progress on the T soon.

The T from Norfolk is not as good as you might think, That is what I was saying about photos not being any kind of guide to the repairs that have been done - it looks good from a distance but close up...

Ooooo ya. That is rough for sure.
You are right about pictures hiding the truth. But, I still do stand by my comments about not having as good to work from around here.
We wouldn't see that many panels in one place to use even as a pattern. Seriously salty air.
I am blessed with plenty of land just not plenty of money to put into a building. I guess I can't complain though.
There are still lots of open spaces here in Nova Scotia.
Patiently awaiting your next video...
Joe

Joe the body came from the USA recently. My mate is not too bothered about the condition. I may tidy a few bits for him. At least I have something to copy now. If I can find some time.
