Default Hood Info

If, in fact you are making a hood to fit a Model A car, the rear radius of the hood is 8". The front curve at the radiator is 6". Just a thought!

Default Correction

The humidity here in South Carolina has affected my brain. Need coffee to straighten it out I guess. The rear of the hood has a 4" radius, and the front is 3". I was remembering the diameter of the tool I was making.

That looks incredible.

Make sure you have enough room for primer paint and clear. To get my gap I use a paint stick and wrap three layers of tape around it for a gauge.

Great Thread!!!!!!

Hey Guys, heres some pics of what I have so far, I have a long way to go. Good piont about the paint, thankyou, I'd not thought of it. I'll be doing a whole new rear out of 1.6mm mostly the same as it is right now, but maybe a little lower in hiegth and with a little more up turn at the bottom. I'm also about to replace the lower panel for one with a little more depth in the step. The whole thing is still fairly fluid in design as I keep making changes as it progresses based on looks and my skill constraints. The timber frames sits on castors so I can roll it around the garage to work on, so the actual ride hieght will be a little lower in the front and a little higher at the back.
Cheers
Jody
