Mike, I'm more impressed with each post. This car is amazing! Given the classic design of the original E-Type, I would not have believed it could be improved upon - but you did it.

The fenders and hood probably get all the attention, but one of my favorite parts is the roof. It is not really shown well in the photos here, but if you had not showed me the detail photos back at Will's, I would not have believed that this car started life as a 2+2 model with that hump in the roof. You did a great job of re-shaping the roof line to remove the hump and make it more like the original coupe.

Looking forward to seeing you at the Great Lakes event in a couple of weeks.

Thanks again guys, I had chopped the top long before any real metal shaping was done. My intention was to be happy with the shape and proportions before moving on to the buck and then shaping. Here's a pic of an original restored 2+2 Style.Name: 0727141431.jpg

Mike
I own a 69 E-type OTS that I am restoring.
I never did like the 2+2.
you have done a great job of restyling the 2+2
I like it.

Thanks Dave, I've always loved the roadsters. Those would be tough to improve upon! This car I started with really didn't have many usable panels on it. I saved it from the crusher. I've had several local Jag owners over to see the clay model and the current work. They have all loved it and agree the Jaguar character is still there. I've been asked to build a 2nd 2+2. The buck makes it possible, but one at a time.

Anyone that saves an e- type from going to the crusher is a saint in my book. Your restyling of the 2+2 is pretty slik to.

Mike,

Awesome design and fab work. Can you tell me how you transfered the sections from the clay body to the plywood buck? Thanks for posting this.
