Deuce roadster hood & sides - what gauge?
Need a little advice please:
I need to make up a new one piece hood and seperate sides for a deuce roadster a friend is building. Would 19 gauge CRS be OK for this? I have both 19 & 18 on hand - obviously 18 will be stronger, but a little tougher to work. Any recommendations? Thanks Barry |

The original hood sides and most of the re pop ones are form 19g, If there is going to be a lot louvers that are put i would go with 18g I did a set with 19g and it had the biggest louver pattern that we could make and i ended up spot welding some stiffener beads to the back side to help the hood keep its shape.

Thanks Rex
I won't be doing any louvers myself (tooling not set up yet) but will do the sides out of 18 gauge anyway. The owner has an HVAC guy who may be able to punch louvers for him. |
