Brace it up first. I use 1" 1/8" tube and triangulate as much as possible. here some picture of a 65 Chev P/U I'm working on. Same type of project.

John, Welcome first of all, and second YES, your coupe is absolutely do able! I'm working on a 36 Dodge and started with worse than yours. Here are a few pictures of what I started with, and some early progress shots to give you confidence. Bob
