Just last Friday, Ken and I were sitting outside of work. All he could talk about was how the Vase was going to be displayed along with a visual of how it was made. What upsets me is that Ken saw an opportunity and now is not able take advantage of it. He so much wanted this project to work so he could sell his house and start a new business.

Very sad news indeed. His projects were always outside the norm and very interesting. His family is in my thoughts and prayers...Eric

Some good friends of Ken's, both personal friends and internet friends, are working to make having his vase displayed at the show a reality. Internet voting is part of the process and we'd love to see Ken's vase make the top 10. More info as progress is made.

I was wondering if somehow the vase still could be followed through and displayed. The pic on top right. kinda gets me. Ken, thank you for all you have selflessly shared here and everywhere.

Damn!!!! That's horrible, I didn't know Ken but always made sure to read his posts. You never know how short life can be until something like this happens. My prayers are with Ken and his family.

I was on the hamb an bumped into one of his posts from a couple weeks ago. Very sobering, wait until it happens to you. You are reading a good thoughtful post and glance to see who it was and theres 'KenB'.

Ken ,
My friend and guide to some of the best metalshaping I have ever seen, I will miss you. I have attended almost every meet Ken has held. He taught me so much I will never be able to repay that debt. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Tom Hill

I live only 30 miles from Grand Rapids where the vase was to be displayed. If I can help in any way with the logistics of making this happen or can offer someone short term lodging assistance please PM me or call 269-948-9474. Lets see if we can honor a fellow metalshaper!
