You posted your pictures bigger and they look even better! Your bike frame jig looks great. Your tig welding is far better than I can do. I hardly get the opportunity to use my tig. You said that if you could see the weld you did not think it was a metal finish what about this model A wing The thing about this work is that it is time consuming and I think the quickest way to achive a metal finish is the method I use but it does leave a slight undercut. The repair to the model A wing below took less than a morning from start to finish. Time is money. Primer will cover the undercuts. If I am working on something that is going to be chrome plated I use a different technique but it takes longer. (so costs more). http://allmetalshaping.com/picture.p...&pictureid=453 |
Welding
David If I could do that repair that you did to that A fender in a half a day I'd be soooo happy, It would take me more that two days to get results like that.;)
All I ment about the welding was the hand see's more than the eye, I did alot of S/Seel welding years ago mainly hand rails for stair cases and Iv'e just tried to carry that sort of finish to the panel work side of things, But like you say time is money and not all customers want to pay for that sort of finish. David you do some of the nicest work Iv'e ever seen, I wish I had half of your talent. Keep up the awesome work. Woody. |
Woody you do a damn good job. Come and work here for a while you will soon learn all I know, you have the tallent. I am sure you have people where you work that can do what I do. I have seen some of your posts on the HAMB.

Hello Woody. Oh dude great job on the 51 Chevy fender. Looks to be a cool ride. I have always loved the 51-52 Chevys. The most beautiful area is the rear fenders. Again very nice job. This is a photo of my 51 Chevy 2 Dr HT. This photo shows my car in 1961 and 2002. I have updated this car five times in 40 years. I some times love it more than my wife. LaurenAttachment 1955;)
