Hello

Hello,

I would like to become a member of allmetalshaping.com as it is a very informative website. I have recently purchased a bead roller, shrinker/stretcher and a planishing hammer and I would like to learn how to use these properly. I have been intrested in car restoration and customisation since a teenager and I am now able to have the equipment to do it properly.

Regards
Matt

Hi Matt,

I'm afraid you can't join mate, as there is only one allocation for a real Brummie on this site and I'm afraid I've got that ticket.:)

Hello Matt and welcome to the site.

I would suggest learning how to work metal by hand tools first. Machines only allows you to make scrap faster. Check out Peter and David's videos.

Hi Max,
I am actually from Watford so your title of real Brummie is safe. I was wondering how many of our colonial friends would have picked up on "the original one".

Hi Jere,

Your right it would be the best way to start, I’ve just been reading Joe Hartson post on getting started, http://allmetalshaping.com/showthread.php?t=2926
There is a lot to learn.

Matt there are a couple of threads you might be interested in.

Getting Started # 1 and 2 in the tutorial section. The first one is on tucking forks and the second one is on the beater bag. I will be doing one on the stump when I get back from the Santa Cruz gathering this weekend. :D
