I am restoring antiques airplanes and want to improve my metalworking skills and especially metal shaping.
I live in the Minneapolis / St Paul metro area and would like to get in touch with kindred folks in this geographic region in addition to getting in touch with anyone with similar interests

Hello Derek and thanks for your response,
I'll try to gather up a list of contacts within driving distance of Minneapolis so I can visit as my travels take me arpound the Tri-state region.

Currently I need to replicate some smaller aluminum fairings for a HOWARD DGA-15P landing gear - actually several sets because friends also have identical projects. I don't necessarily expect to be able to do it all by myself (lack of sufficient skills) but would sure like to learn more along the way.

I'll look for further posts I can follow up on.

Good to hear from another guy in the area....we are up in anoka.......Have seen wing root fairings made...I think it is more corect layout then work on the wheel..... You need to find Tod Sutton down in fairbout,,,,,he should be at dans and he is a old airplane guy .....what do you have for tools and a work place? Hope to get together befor it gets cold. Barry
