Hi, and welcome Per!

metalman sweden 01-05-2012 02:08 PM

Thanks!

Thanks all who make me feel welcome on this board :)

I will show some stuff I done over the years, some big and some small and easy done....I know some of you seen this pics on other sites, if so, just skip this and read another post :)

I start with the easy ones..

http://allmetalshaping.com/picture.p...pictureid=9171

..a basic rearfender for a bike, made of 3 pieces.

http://allmetalshaping.com/picture.p...pictureid=9167

Hoodside for a Ford -33, have made many of this kind, with or without lovers..
Often they go complete with one piece hoodtop.

http://allmetalshaping.com/picture.p...pictureid=9166

Shrinking the edge on a panel for my personal project "the mad bike"

http://allmetalshaping.com/picture.p...pictureid=9165

A test fit after streching and planishing in the powerhammer, also tipped the edge for " riveting" later.

http://allmetalshaping.com/picture.p...pictureid=9168

Here is a Ford -34 there I done much of the metalwork on, like doorskins, roof filling, hoodtop......and so on....one of my favorites

http://allmetalshaping.com/picture.p...pictureid=9169

My steeldrop trailer built completly from scratch, from chassie to kitchen :D

http://allmetalshaping.com/picture.p...pictureid=9170

Here you see a sculpture I build together with 3 friends many years ago..its 18 meters high and has around 7 tons weight...built in stainless steel...

Okej, this is some stuff, but ofcourse itīs just the things who came up and easy to remember, the parts I make at daily basis is many times more complicated than I first thought.....fast and cheap parts and the customer always asking for highquality - thats a hard nut to crusch..;)

Take care guys!

Hi all!

Now to something completly diffrent than I usely do...

I will have a class in the future and the girls like to learn how to create some homestyling products, like flowers and small boxes....

So I give it a try..I feel that if I get students here I need to try some before..espeselly when I newer have done any thing even close to this

So I just made a flexpattern of a heart made of ceramic, this part of making patterns will be included in the class.

I then cut out the copper piece, itīs 0,6 mm thick and anleaded so itīs pretty soft.

I get surprised how tricky it was to do this one, very little of material to play around with makes it hard to shape...

When I was satisfied with the overall shape of the front and back part I folded in a little flange....little is the right word...

It took some playing before both pieces lay totaly flat at the bench

Finally when all looks ok I put on some tinpaste (same as I use to prepare metal before lead works)

Sorry that this project carryed me away so I forgotted to shot some progress pics ..but this is the result anyway...next step will be to make some higes so the "box" will be complete!

To sum this up: itīs really much harder than it looks like to make so small things, A fender for a bike or like that is so much more forgiving than this one..I promise..

Hope I give you some ideaīs now...and next time I will try to use the camera..

Take care!

Hi Per welcome to allmetalshaping. some nice stuff there. I agree with your comment about it being a hard nut to crack in regards to doing good qquality wor at a price that people will pay!.

Hi Mats, yes I guess I have done most of the SMW practice projects for the pullmax machines back in the days :-)

Nice and useful machines but maybe little to big for many small shops/garages...
