A 1932 Willys 6-90 http://1932.willyshotrod.com/1932Willys2.jpg Looking exceptionally pleased with her purchase. :) http://1932.willyshotrod.com/1932Willys3.jpg Been in storage for 60 years! First 20 in a paddock in Koraleigh, then here for the last 40 in Heathcote. http://1932.willyshotrod.com/1932Willys4.jpg Getting ready to load her up. http://1932.willyshotrod.com/1932Willys5.jpg Ready to hit the road home. http://1932.willyshotrod.com/1932Willys6.jpg Quick stop in Heathcote for lunch first at the same exact spot I stopped bringing the first Willys Truck home too! |

Hell ya!
I am along for the ride on this one! What are the plans? |
Did the cabin side-walls come with this project?
If not, this will witness an extension of your talent/skills! Popping the corn in anticipation! |
Very cool, Marcus. What will the balance of this project be- restoration vs modernization?
|
Great purchase Marcus and Lisa!
I see amother great project thread in the making. |
Many thanks guys. :)
Going to be similar in build to the truck but with a 300c for the donor. No roof chop or body extension needed this time but will have to wide bodied it 3-4" to get the interior room and fit the HEMI and suspension etc. I do have the door skins but will be converting it to a coach model. Will fill in with some photos soon. |
First car? Way to go!
I had never seen a body construction like that. New one on me. The front end is great looking and a 300 is a posh donor. This ought to be quite the adventure but that should make a heck of a ride. We've put Coyotes in places they shouldn't go. Just required hood blisters on a Model A but with accessory bracketing modifications as well. Where theres a will theres a way. I have done some visuals to see about widening an A and concluded that a balanced look would be tough with a 30s car. So... Best of luck and enjoy the project. We love the pictures and walkthrough reporting style you have.;) |
Wow, I'm in for this project !

Lisa trying out the driving position. :) http://1932.willyshotrod.com/1932Willys8.jpg Not a bad size at all inside. If it wasn't for the big taper in the body width towards the front, 340mm or 13.5" of taper, it would be the same as our Cherokee. http://1932.willyshotrod.com/1932Willys9.jpg Came with the original wire wheels but missing 3 caps. http://1932.willyshotrod.com/1932Willys10.jpg Termites really got to the front doors and ate all the frame away! http://1932.willyshotrod.com/1932Willys11.jpg 6 cylinder engine, L-head, 192.9 cu.in., 65 h.p http://1932.willyshotrod.com/1932Willys12.jpg Even got a crank handle which still turns over the engine! http://1932.willyshotrod.com/1932Willys13.jpg Tiny distributor! http://1932.willyshotrod.com/1932Willys14.jpg Oils clean. http://1932.willyshotrod.com/1932Willys15.jpg Door skins are good. http://1932.willyshotrod.com/1932Willys16.jpg What they looked like when restored. http://1932.willyshotrod.com/1932Willys17.jpg This is a 2 door coach version that I'm going to turn ours into. :) http://1932.willyshotrod.com/1932Willys18.jpg US advertising for it. Willys Overland 1932 http://1932.willyshotrod.com/1932Willys19.jpg Australian advertising for it. More advertising for the Willys Overland and Willys Knight. https://classiccarcatalogue.com/WILLYS_1932.html I had the wrong engine listed first not realising the Overland and Knight versions were different. |
