New Member from Texas
Just joined as I restore older vehicles and objects. I reside in Dayton, Texas and have an interest in purchasing a bead roller, but have questions on what dies are readily available for certain brand rollers.

Hi Jake and welcome!:)
I don't buy my machines I make them. But the best, in my opinion, is Lazze's. he has 1-1/2" adjustment (in and out on the top shaft) he sells several dies that he makes on his CNC lathe. But it will put a big dent in your wallet. Just do a search, using the search icon you will find a lot of post with modified H.F. machines. Oh by the way, being new here, H.F. Stands for Harbor Frieght. |
Welcome Jack.
The HF (Harbor Freight, but I often call them Horror Fright) bead roller can be made to work, just think of it as a 'starting kit' that needs modification. I ended up bolting up a huge angle iron I wasn't using to be able to use it with moving all over the place, but limits my bead depth to 8". The HF beading wheels needing a 'tune up' on the lathe. Thankfully had the tools to modify it. Joe at Hoosier Profiles makes up some nice beading dies for the HF rollers. So HF + Work + Joe's beading dies is a good low cost solution for me. http://hoosierprofiles.com/Bead_Roller_Dies.html Lazze bead roller would be nice, but expensive. Still a great selection of roller dies would be a nice addition to the shop. |
Hi Jack welcome to the forum
