My name is Mike and I live in Salisbury, north of Charlotte about 40 miles. I'm mostly a retired builder who is interested in large scale model railroading (1.5" to 1') and metal stuff. A friend and I recently built a very inexpensive cnc plasma cutter. We do yard art and other nonsense. I have a small deAcro shear, roller and pan brake. I just got a HF planishing hammer to give definition to our yard art. I've always have been facinated with the Italian panel beaters and their beautiful Ferrari race car bodies. I'd like to learn more about metal fabrication.

Welcome aboard we love to see pictures of your yard art. Post some pictures maybe we can help with adding definition. Best part about metal shaping is most of it can be done by hand or with homemade tools.

Hi Mike, welcome to the forum. I started building a CNC plasma cutter a couple of years ago but have never finished it, I am way over my head with the electronics and no one to helps so I am stuck. I will finish it one of these days.
As Johnny said a lot can be done with just hand tools. David |
