My name is dan and im from san bernardino california. I like motorcycles, im into engines mechanical stuff and anything cool really. Looking to build some parts for my bike (buell xb9s) to replace the old plastic ones that are hurting bad. My budget is pretty small so im looking at basic home made hand tools, practice and patience. Lots and lots of practice and patience. Any and all guidence is appreciated.

Thanks all. I have been reading the basics. Gonna hunt the thrift shops for some cheap bats. Still not sure where to find a stump, but i havent really looked into it yet. Can i find aluminum at the hardware store? Home depot? Lowes?

You can but it's the wrong alloy for shaping. You want 3003 H14 probably in .063. There are a bunch of shapers in your neck of the woods and someone can tell you where you can buy some...or even let you come visit their shop.
