Another New Guy Here.....
Hello everyone, I'm Joe from Indiana. I do automotive collision repair for a living. I build hot rods in the off hours. Nothing fancy, mainly for myself and my wife, but occasionally I will do some metal fabrication work for other people.
Most recently,I did some work on a '69 Mustang fastback. The owner is doing a pro touring type build. I had to get all the basic sheet metal fit,the closed up all the panel gaps to 3/16", extended the lower rockers, quarter panels, and lower fenders 3". I also built a custom rear lower valance, and modified the front valance to match. I'm currently working on my '38 plymouth coupe. This was my first car,and has been quite the platform to learn on and hopefully better my skills with. I have done a lot of work to it, complete custom floors, suicide doors, custom running boards, widened and extended rear fenders, custom tail pan, custom 2x3 rear frame, etc....lets just say I have modified most of it in some way or another. I have a '68 c10 short bed pickup that is next in line to be built. I am currently running around in my '48 ford F1. It was supposed to be a simple parts hauler, built from left overs, but it kind of got out of control. I was at the NSRA Nationals in Louisville this year and was fortunate enough to meet Jimmy Hervatin. I was floored by his Ford truck, and he was kind enough to take the time to talk with me. He gave me alot of good advice, and directed me to this site. I try and make each of my metal projects and builds better than the one before, so I plan on using this site to help me do that. |
Hi Joe and Welcome.:) You have to post some pictures up of a few of your projects as everyone on here loves pictures.;)
