New from NW Indiana

I have been wanting to improve my metalworking skills for a couple vintage race car projects I have in the works and began looking for some good online resources.
Since I found this site a couple weeks ago I have been a behind the scenes student of
the many post here and have learned more than I expected in this short amount of time.
I have been downright blown away by the skills of many here and their willingness
to instruct the beginners.
I decided to join in with the anticipations that my work may some day develop into the likenesses of many here.
I have seen incredible projects accomplished here that I would have never thought possible without tons of out of my financial reach machines.
This has inspired me to start as a beginner with the basic hand tools I have now and a few more that I can make or aquire to jump in and practice.
Thanks for the great site and glad to be here. Winston.

Thanks for the welcome Peter.
Still reading the many post here today. I also have been putting some thought towards choosing my first practice project. Likely a simple bowl. I will need to locate a good hardwood stump and put together a bat and or bottle cap mallet.
As for the metal I have laying around I can practice on these three.
1- 1/8" aluminum
2- 18 ga. Steel
3-22 ga. Stainless
