Hello from central Scotland

Hi all. My name is Steve Smith and I am located in the small town of Bo'ness in central Scotland. I have been a maintenance engineer in one form or another for 40 years. I have been involved with clubman motor sports for most of that time. I now sprint and hill climb a vintage Austin 7 and am building another. I had a very skilled amateur panel beater lined up to build the body but unfortunately he is now too frail to do it. I would like to try to learn some of the skills to enable me to build a simple racing car body in aluminium. I am presently mocking it up using wire and card before committing to metal. If you could see my attempts then you would understand why I need advise.
Thanks,
Steve

Hi Steve,

I have some Scottish blood in me somewhere and alloy work is / was my thing so welcome to the forum. I must point out that I'm a real newcomer but I've found loads of great info in here in the short time I've been here so don't be shy.

Welcome Steve. I'm just up the road from you in Falkirk. It sounds like an interesting project you've got there. Looking forward to pics

Hi Steve - I have a friend who is a master fabricator and currently building an Austin 7 Special for himself. I post things about it periodically on here. Here is the link to the thread.
