Wanting to get back in the fold
Good morning gentlemen, my name is Vern, I had been a member at the old site, and had been looking for it after a period of absence. I found MetalMeet, and although had the same feel as the old site, it wasn't the same. I did join MetalMeet, and enjoy a lot of the threads. I had forgotten the old sites name, and had searched for it several times with no luck. I had always liked the tool build threads and it was searching for helve hammers that I found the new "AllMetalShaping.com". Hopefully, I can be involved again.
As I approach retirement (do we ever really retire?), I want to build the shop I've attempted to build for the last twenty years. I work out of my garage, but there is never enough room, with my collection of machine tools and welders. Working outside in the elements is getting old. I'm looking forward examining new site. Hopefully, some of the old threads are still available. Vern aka TinFab |
Hi Vern welcome to the forum

Welcome (back) to the forum, Vern.

Welcome back Vern. A lot has happened. It seems that one or more of the members of the old forum attempted some kind of hijack, and in the resulting shutdown most of the old threads were lost forever. Some of the people bailed out from over there and founded this forum. It's a good clean place.

Hi Richard, it's good to be back! It is unfortunate about the old site, there was a lot of valuable information there. Hopefully there are people involved today to recreate some of the lost information. Vern :(

Welcome to AllMetalShaping Vern. By old site are you referring to MetalMeet or the MetalShapers Association (MSA...Terry Cowan's site). MSA closed down last fall. Most their content is gone for good.
Look around in the forums here. You'll find lots and lots of good stuff and it's well organized and easy to find. |
