Hello everyone,

I just bought a 1981 Mercedes G wagon ambulance with the intention of turning it into a adventure rig/ camper. I bought the rig site unseen and while it is in pretty good condition it is missing a portion of the floor where they extended the body of a long wheelbase G wagon for the ambulance build out. Long story short I was going to just buy on old truck bed and cut it to fit until I discovered what a bead roller can do so I decided to buy tools instead and start making my own stuff. I have a degree in mechanical engineering and have always been a tinkerer starting out building legos to, building a mini Baja car as my senior design project in college to my current project of the G wagon which is also getting a diesel motor swap. Hoping to learn a ton from this forum and sharing some of my progress as I repair the rust and make a new floor for the back of the G.
