What's up from San Marcos TX
Jake here, from San Marcos TX. I have always been into hot rods and metal fabrication. It wasn't until the last 4-5 years during the time of building my 1930 Tudor sedan that i really obtained an interest in sheet metal fabrication and the endless possibilities to make just about anything. I began reading up and watching videos of techniques used for sheet metal work and started saving for tools. Since then, i have bought an English wheel, planishing hammer, shrinker/stretcher, break, and a bead roller. I have built a few panels for my model a and also play around on the bead roller a lot as well. I have had my fair share of scraped pieced, but i figure that's how i learn what NOT to do.
Finding someone that has the knowledge of metal shaping or knows tools and how to use them is difficult. By joining this site, i hope to pick up some tricks and as always, learn from the people around me to get better at what i do. Thanks for yalls help! |
Welcome to the forum Jake, your attitude towards scrap reminds me of my Father-in-law. A friend of ours wandered into his race car shop while we were working on the car, after watching a bit he asked my Father-in-law to "teach me how to weld" my Father-in-law responded " You're not taught how to weld, You have to learn how to weld."
This forum is a great place to learn. |
Welcome to the forum, Jake.
