Hi everyone, I own a small restoration/hot rod shop, I have some entry level metal shaping /fabrication tools and I'm looking to further our metal working skills.

Iron ranger. Not much to do up there in a month but shiver and shape metal. Look forward to seeing your progress

I'm further west actually, damn near a Canadian too (up by the border). I love the iron range but I landed a bit west of lake of the woods Mn over 20 yrs ago when I hung up my Marine corps uniform. (Lake of the woods, a fishermans landmark)

56wingnut, do you host events in Mn? Any training opportunities?

Photobucket screwed us all a while back and I haven't jumped things over to a new image host site, otherwise I'd show a little bit of what's been getting me by to date. I have no plans on coach building like some of these true artists that post here. I see photos of complete car bodies and I'm simply amazed, truly inspiring.

In my restoration and hot rod work I run into panel rot for cars that have no reproduction support. Honestly, after fitting many repop panels sometimes I think a person would be better off just making your own panels anyways, lol.

A 1958 plymouth recently put a load test on my novice abilities and limited tool/equipment situation. I was happy with my results but it was an eye opener. I need more stuff, better stuff and more knowledge.

MetalShaping in the North Woods

Hi Dave and welcome to the forum.

I saw you asking Dan Pate about his MetalShaping meet. He holds a large meet each spring. Additionally, I have a smaller meet coming up in just over two weeks in Cumberland, WI (About a 90 minute drive S.E. from Duluth.)

Pat Brubaker is holding two classes in my shop the weekend prior to the meet.

If you are interested, we still have room. Here's more info on both the meet and Pat's classes.

I hope to see you at an event soon.
