Hi all,
I’m Paul from Yorkshire, UK. I’m a mature engineering student and a full time cable installation advisor.
I want to join as I bought an old Ford which shares my birthday with poor sheet metal, replacements require trading first born children so wanted to learn tips and tricks and try repair and restore what I have got.

Any questions just ask I’m an honest and open idiot

Welcome to the forum Paul, there’s always plenty to see and learn on here, a good few UK members as well. What old Ford do you have? (Please don’t let it be a Corsair:D)

A Mk 1 Fiesta. Don’t think we had the Corsair here

My stupid iPad won’t let me attach the photo I have but they were a dreadful car.

Definately a late 70's Ford as most of it has succumbed to the British Authorities insistance with covering the roads with salt when it drops to 2 degrees celcius or less

I want these arches but im not prepared to part £500 worth of portraits of the queen to buy them in Aluminium


So there it is, bought 115 miles from home. planned to drive till it blew up then get recovered the rest of the way. 11 miles later I was at the side of the road.

Got recovery guy to pull up a mile from home and said get it going ill drive it onto driveway and her indoors wont scream as loud as she might normally. so we spent 45 minutes got it running as rough as toast but running. Limped home onto drive and she wasnt in.

so there it sat as i watched replacment panels go on ebay for more than i paid for car until i found this site and thought lets see if a ham fisted idiot like me can make some bits for it. And here i am in all my pudgy glory

Well, it's a bit rough but at least it's honest and doesn't appear to be hiding anything from you:)
