Hi all,

I am a 38 year old father of 3. I have always loved working on cars. I am wanting to learn the skills to make a small pedal car with my kids. I want to get them involved and teach them how to use the tools in the shop. I have always been a tool hoarder and already have a large selection of hammers and dolly's. As well as welders and some of the other goodies needed for this type of work. I have always been fascinated with the old ways of doing things with hand tools. I hope to learn a lot here. If anyone has any questions please feel free to ask.

Thanks,
Robby

Thank You for the kind welcome.

Thanks for the welcome. I cannot wait to get started. I am in the process of cleaning up the shop and organizing everything.

Welcome Robby,

I'm in Portland, what part of the State are you in? Maybe we need to get a "Metal Meet "group together. I'm at the same level as you wanting to work with metal and have the basic tools. I have been watching and reading here for a while and it's amazing what these people turn out and have for answers.
Good luck on the pedal car and keep us posted as it progress.

I am in Grants Pass. A Metal Meet would be fun. There is definitely centuries of combined metal shaping experience here. I have already learned a lot just looking at the design ideas. From what I have seen so far it looks like a great community.

Well Robby,

You are at the other end of the State, but you also are in the the HOT ROD mecca of the State. In Grants Pass they have a real good following of customs and other good American classics, with a parade each year as I recall, but it's been a few years since I last attended.
Anyway, if you hear of anything or something comes up around here let's keep in touch.
