Les Edmundson (Oldtin) from Michigan

I didn't even realize I had not made a post here! I have talked to many of you either in person at past gatherings or on the interweb. I consider myself a novice metalshaper, but here lately I'm wondering if I could be better classified as a ROOKIE!
Same story as most others here have..... I have more dreams than time or money to complete, but I'm still hammering away towards the end goal of completion of more projects than one should have.

Hi Les, good to hear from you again. What ever happened to the ZM2? Seen Charlie Kish lately?

oldtin 12-08-2010 06:23 PM

Hi Kerry, I still have the wireform and all the related CAD data for the ZM2. I don't know what happened to the panels and buck, probably recycled into new cold roll by now. When I get caught up  I would like another go at it, but this tiime in aluminum.

I haven't heard from Charlie lately, I need to rattle his cage and see what he's been up to.

I've followed along on some of your builds, both tool and project related, I must say the roadster and Monique are great projects and well done.

I actually saved a couple of mannequins from dumpster fate, but compared to Monique they look anerexic.:(

That would be a perfect application for a Burt buck over the wireform. Pulling FSPs would make the panels infinitely easier to make. At least for some of us. That'd be a great project for a regional meet.

I used to see him post on MM once in a while. If you talk to him, invite him over.

Hello Old Tin

I look forward to meeting you some day Old Tin! I'm not far from you in Mich. Sounds like you have some neat projects.

Andy

Sun-n-Fun 2002

Here are some photos from Sun-n-Fun 2002. These were taken by Terry Cowan. I lost most of my photos with a computer meltdown. These are of the buck and making FSP's of the ZM-2 roadster.
Jim York and me having fun. My first Metalshaper's event.

Hey Les.
See ya still down the road

oldtin 12-09-2010 07:07 PM

Carey, It looks like you guys had some fun taping up the wireform. That was very early on in the project. Wish I could have traveled as much as the wireform has!

Andy, send me an email of pm if your going to be in the area, I always enjoy meeting people with metal interests.

Doug, Still just up the road at work and down the road for play. Are you still down at the south end of the complex? I get out to plant 3, 6 and the training center occasionally, not much farther south though. I'd still like the nickel tour of your place if your up to visiters, maybe get me some ideas on my back burner gasser project.

I have'nt work there since June 06.
I do the hr drive to Bay City, I work afternoon shift.
I work with the Flint-stones, Sagnasty-its and the Bay City-its and they make me look really really smart, so it is what it is.

Not much of a tour to give, no projects except my car repairs and fixin lawn mowers.
Gasser project?? Yee ol Willys is sittin in da house garage layin and waitin to be worked on

Dougg 12-10-2010 02:34 AM

Give me a call and we'll do the tour.
Well a nickels worth anyway
