Mid Life Crisis=Career Change? ;)

I'm 38 going from a career in engineering to becoming a craftsman. I've been working as an engineer my whole career and working in the shop for fun. I have an opportunity to make the change and I'm going to make it happen. Metal shaping is something I want to master along with general metal fabrication. Looking forward to a life long learning endeavor.

I was in engineering for most of my working life and whilst it was generally OK, I didn’t really get a creative outlet, so I wish you the best and hope you can make it work, sometimes I wish I had been able to do this.

Welcome to the forum and good luck with the transition.

The only thing that will keep you from fulfilling your dream is you telling yourself you can't do it. I started on my MGB that I have owned since 1970 and 17 years later it is 11" wider and there is less than 200 lbs of the original car left. I'm all self taught and if I can do it, so can you.
