Hello from Northern Ohio
 

Hi all,

I have been gathering up tools and information about metal shaping for about six months or so now. I have some basic tools and have purchased some additional tooling too. I just received my shrinker-stretcher set from Eastwood and I have the upper and lower anvils at the house to start making my own E-wheel.

I am not totally new to metal shaping but I have never really invested in the tooling until now... I have a 1971 Firebird that I am going to be COMPLETELY redoing so there is a lot of heavy duty metal working on my future!

As I said I am not new to metal shaping or fabrication but I normally worked for a shop and had access to all the tooling I needed. But now after a career change a few years back I have to gather all the tools to have on hand at the house. In addition to the stuff I already mentioned, I own Miller 175 MIG and Diversion 165 TIG welders so I can weld up pretty much any metal I need for this project.

Can't wait to get started actually shaping some parts!

87hdrush, the weather here in Medina is just cold these days but about a week ago we had our fair share of SNOW! I'll post up some pics in a bit here.

I plan to metal finish it and paint it with black wrinkle paint. That's the bell housing for the car... The drive train will be C6 Vette with custom suspension based on the C6 as well (mostly just the spindles).

As soon as I am done with my E-Wheel I will start on some sheetmetal work.
