Hi. I'm Stew from Newmarket, Ontario. I've raced and restored cars since the 70's and have handled pretty much all of my own welding and fabrication jobs. I'm a self taught welder and am always looking for tips on how to get things done. My current project is a Jeep XJ ... with no floors!

Stew, welcome to AllMetalShaping and thanks for the introduction. Hope you find the site helpful with metal shaping. Thanks for joining us.

Welcome to Allmetalshaping Stew.

I'm sure you'll find lots of interesting stuff here, let us know if you need any help with those floorpans. You've got lots of local company around here too, as there's quite a few members here from around the GTA. You just missed our most recent metalshaping weekend in Whitby a couple of weeks ago, but we're planning another one later on in the spring if you'd like to check out one of these events.

Thanks Ken. Timing is everything and I guess I blew it this time. I did see the thread and photos on the recent gathering in Whitby and it looked very interesting. I'll definitely keep my eyes open for the one in the spring.

Welcome aboard. I'm not far from you, but hibernating for the winter.

Thanks John. I'm sure I know where you mean. I'm up there often.

Hey neighbour

Hi Stew,

Good to have you onboard here. I am in Newmarket as well.

I don't do as much metalshaping as I would like due to the cold and the garage being occupied with a vehicle. But when I get the chance, I do mostly motorcycle related projects.

Welcome.

Hi Derrol. I actually enjoy the cold but have to agree that it does crimp your style a bit when it comes to getting work done. Insulating my garage has been one of my projects for the last 2 winters. I can't get up for it in the summer and I seem to have more incentive when I do it in the cold! The first step was to install a ceiling ... metal of course. It involved no shaping, just a lot of cutting and screwing. :)
