Hi guys,

My name is Juan and I leave in Spain. I have no experience in metal shaping (i work as a white collard in a bank) but I am quite interested in this world. I am considering to make some small investment and try this as a hobby, and who knows if it could be more than a hobby in a future...
I am quite glad to have found this community.

Hello Juan,

Welcome to the site. Many people enjoy shaping metal as a hobby. What is your particular interest? (cars? art?) It is possible to start shaping without spending lots of money, all you need are a few hand tools and you can learn the skills involved and the way the metal 'moves' when you work it. These skills will always be needed no mater how many machines and tools you have so it is a good place to start.
There is lots of info on here and if you have questions people will be happy to help.

Hi guys,

Thanks a lot for your warm welcome. My main interest is in making pieces for m otorcycles. I feel an absolute fascination for the cafe racer aluminum tanks, but it will be a long jouney until I am able to make one of those pieces of jewlery. This forum has so mach usefull information that my wife starts to suspect that I stay until late watching other short of pages...
