Greetings From Mississippi!

I am a sculptor who lives in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. In addition I am an art professor and the Sculpture Area Coordinator at the University of Southern Mississippi here in town. I teach iron casting, fabrication skills, including various types of welding and other basic metal working skills. I also teach wood shop and anything else that needs teaching.
I am currently working on large outdoor sculpture commission for the Mississippi Museum of Art in Jackson. I am integrating more sheet metal into my own work and incorporating it into our studios here at the university as well. We will soon have our first English wheel! I have so much to learn and so many projects on my list that I want to do. In sheet metal I work in mild steel and stainless, but hope to incorporate aluminum as well. I recently met Kerry at our shops where I gave him the nickle tour and he turned me on to this site. What a fantastic resource can't wait to get into all the forum topics! Attachment 11011 |
Welcome Jen. It was a pleasure meeting you and James and seeing your facility yesterday. I'm really excited about working with you.

Hi Jen, Great project, I like to see how artistic people use these skills to be creative. I wish I had more time for artistic stuff but all my time is taken up. Kerry has done some good sculpures including a complete life size aluminium girl (or is it a mermaid Kerry?) anyway its really well done.
