I'm here to learn about metal shaping. I found this site on my search for info on a louver press. I have always liked metal working although I have very little experience and hardly any tools. I am looking for a louver press to put some louvers in hoods on our jeeps. Any help would be appreciated. Would like to spend around $500 if that's possible.

John, welcome the AllMetalShaping. Don't think you will find a louver press for $500. Louvers go for about $2.00 a punch, sometimes there is also a setup charge. You should be able to have the hood punched within your budget. Do you know what gauge the hood is made from. If it is thicker than 16 gauge you might have a problem finding someone to punch it.

Thanks for the feedback. Im sure it would be cheaper just to have it done, but I would like to have the ability to do all three of our hoods as well as friends that need any louvers.
