Hello everyone. My name is Kristian and I am an admitted computer geek who happens to love working with his hands. Growing up I was always intrigued with how things work and never hesitated to disassemble anything in pursuit of that knowledge. My parents channeled that energy into home improvement and auto maintenance which I still enjoy doing to this day. Given my enthusiasm for classic cars and the fact that one of the only areas I lack any knowledge or experience with in restoring them is metal shaping I've been looking for some good resources for expanding my skill set. I hope to harvest some of the collective knowledge and advice of this group to get me on the path to learning about this exciting hobby. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello Kristian, welcome to the site. In my opinion the first thing to do is to learn how to shape metal by hand, how to weld sections together in such a way that the welds can be easily as possible dressed to a metal finish and of course the skills to dress metal to a metal finish.
