Hello ,
I'm 62 years old and currently restoring Maserati 3500 . This Superleggera technology has advantages and disadvantages , aluminium does not rust but steel and aluminium are not compatible . I rely on you to help me to acheive good results . I leave in France and have some experience on Ferrari 250 and of course Maserati 3500. Bst Rgds Roland |
As a Citroën lover you've immediatly got my attention with a surname like that. I'm very confident you'll find your knowledge here.
Mais, je ne suis pas verbeux: Nous velons des photos, s'il vous plaît! :) Welcome Roland |
Welcome to AllMetalShaping Roland. Many of us are VERY interested in superleggera construction. Please post any photos you can of what you are doing and how you are doing it.
I am 90% finished with a scratch built Art Deco roadster and regret very much that I did not go superleggera. |

Hi Roland, The other problem with Superleggera bodywork is the fact that the tubes are always in the way when you want to repair an area. Often you will have to remove the panels from the car in order to carry out proper repair. This in itself causes more work because invariably the flanges will split as you unpick them - 0r they will when you try to wrap them back over so you need to replace all the edges of the panels too.
