Hey from South Dakota
 

I'm Mike from South Dakota. I'm a member of a number of forums and found this one while doing a search for tuck shrinking. I recognized a few names while I was browsing and it looked like a good one to join.

Anyway...I am, of course, interested in metal working. And as mentioned, one of the things that got me here is trying to learn tuck shrinking. I build 1/8" scale models from brass, copper, and aluminum. My interests lie in military, Old West, Civil War and pretty much whatever strikes my fancy.

I have a M416 1/4 ton trailer done. I have a M915A1 military semi truck, a M105A3 1.5 ton military trailer, and a covered wagon (old west type) either on the work bench or in the planning stages. Right now I am focusing on the M915A1.

Eventually, I want to build a 1/8 scale 1955 Nomad Wagon. I have the AMT 1/16 scale model that I am going to base my body dimensions from. As this model does not fall in the "military, Old West, or Civil War" categories, it obviously falls in the "whatever strikes my fancy" category. LOL.

But first....I need to learn the finer art of tuck shrinking. They make it look so easy in the pictures.....

Welcome from another SD member. I say get some scrap and practice. Take pictures and post the troubles you're having. If you get to stuck you could make a roadtrip to Sioux Falls and maybe I can help.
