Grumpys Garage

Hi Guys, my name is Greg - aka Grumpy
I have a few old cars that im working on when I get time.
One that is almost finished is a 65 VW beetle, 6" chop, chassis raised into body by 4", has a oval window grafted in, and is all bare metal.
There is a photo shoot in the back of "Fuel Magazine" feb issue this year, for those interested :)
I wont to get my head around hand shaping panels etc.
Am a fitter / toolmaker / mechanic for over 35yrs, so wont to upskill a little for work on my own cars.
Also have a few pic's of other cars in my shed at "Grumpy's Garage"
on facebook, again for those interested.
Cheers Guys.
Grumpy ;)

Welcome to the site Greg, your VW sounds great. I have a couple of friends who does a lot of Beatles here in the UK, he did a similar car a few years ago. here is a link to his website, I think there is a photo or two of it on the website site. Simon and Shane own and run 'The paint box'. I have known Simon since he was 16 and I taught both of them bodywork. www.thepaintbox.co.uk

Hi HeatNBeat.
I think my name came from Nurture, not Nature.
My main job, [ business owner] is hirering forklifts to fishermen.
It pays the bills, but can be quite frustrating at times with the lack of concern shown for the gear, and the recurring damage sometimes.
So - GGGrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!! lol.
Thats where the Grumpy bit comes from.
I also run a small farm by myself, so time to "Play" with my cars can be a little limited, again - Bugga!
Hope this sheds a little lite :)
Regards
Grumpy :)

HI Greg welcome to the site, VW are very good cars for learning, many many years ago I used to go down to the wrecking yard and buy any damage panels and repair or remake them for practice I wont tell you how many I stuff up before I got it right :o
