From the Continent of Vancouver Island

Good Morning,

My name is Neil Gustafson, I have had the automobile disease for my whole life. I have been involved with competing with cars for over 40 years. I own Ellice Automotive in Victoria, B.C. and we create things that other people have a hard time understanding. There is no box!!

I have been involved in the Blacksmith world for over 20 years. I guess that started with the anvil beside the wood/coal furnace in the basement, when we were kids.

Growing old is compulsory, Growing UP is optionable.

Neil

Welcome Aboard,

I have fond memories of that area. Spent a few years going to the bay street armories. Also have good history with Butler Brothers cement.
Wish I was still back there.

Good Morning,

Bay St. Armories are just 3 blocks up Bay from my shop.

Lots are probably still the same, lots are different. Starting construction of a NEW Johnson St. Bridge, dredging now. No more sawmills anywhere, Inner Harbour, Sooke, Esquimalt. Closest mill is in Crofton. Naden has taken over where Yarrows was. Lots of new buildings at Dockyard. Victoria Shipyard (Washington Group) has the Submarine contract and now they are starting to line things up for the new Boat Construction.

Butler Bros. still have the plant at Bay & Bridge. No more Hardware Store on Keating.

It's the same, only different.

Neil
