Australian Classic car restorer with way too much spare time and money.

Hi Guys,

Well don't I wish!

I AM a car guy. but am actually time poor and financially wounded

I have been in the Auto Industry all of my working life (about 25 years) I began my career as a panel beater (body guy) then by necessity a spray painter and then (now) a body maker moving away from smash repairs into restoration. I have done some teaching at tafe at both trade and hobby levels but as the clock ticks I find I am the one hungry to learn.

It seems the clock is ticking a whole lot faster than it did 20 years ago!

I am a car guy with a diverse passion for so many different eras in Automotive design. One minute I have a lust for old Porsche's the next a desire for pre-war Maserati. Hot Rods, Street machines , customs etc.

It seems as I may suffer from auto schizophrenia, but I am sure I am not alone?

The reason I am posting this? I love moving metal. I think I do OK but I want more!

I truly believe that my success as tradesman is a result of learning from those I have worked with. Taking a bit from here and a bit from there and mixing it with my own is what I am.

Mixing it up with members of this forum will no doubt build on my knowledge and I will hopefully be able to give some back too.

In reading some posts on this forum I know I am in some excellent company and look forward to learning from you guys and If I am lucky enough meet some of you too.

Thanks for reading my 2 red wine spiel !

When I saw your title I said to myself "what a terrible problem to have" but then I found out you are just like the rest of us - big dreams, low cash and an accellerating clock. Love to see some of your projects

First one is a 308 GTB that spat a wheel off mashing up the qtr. inner wheelarch and apron etc. made a half qtr. panel and some fibreglass bits and
pieces.

This car sat another shop for about twelve months "waiting for parts" we were luck to have all of the parts in stock. (some sheet metal, fibreglass mat and resin) and a whole lot of love.

Jason that is a very nice job well presented and well done
Peter

Jason, I agree with Peter! Nice work. Do you have any more photos of the new parts?
