Hello all,
I'm just getting into metal shaping, been wanting to for some time now. First project is going to be a head fairing for my Lotus Eleven Rep. Tried doing it in GRP but remembered how much i hated it. Then a Lotus 7 S1 nose. Was given a crash course on wheeling and gas welding alumimium by a friend a fews years back here in Vancouver, but havent done anything since. I've got some bits to build a wheel, but just havent had the time to do so. I've also made up a small stump and have made a 1/2 scale cycle gaurd. So, i've joined this forum to learn how to bash out some metal. Cheers, Rod |
Rod Welcome from another BC Boy.
A Lotus eleven sounds like a nice project. |
Welcome to the forum Rod

Doug,
The car is actually finished, but i'm not happy with the FRP panels and that i do eventually want to make the single seat panels for it. One thing i've got in my possession is the body section drawing for the rear body panel, complete with Frank Costins signature. I just need to find time and space to make a buck from it. http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...Roddy/RN11.jpg Cheers, Rod |
Rod, It looks good, I would be right a home in the paddock for the HMR at Mission in august.
Space and time are 2/3 of the age old problems with playing with old cars the 3rd being money. If you ever want to play with an english wheel or other noisy toys you are welcome to come by some time. |
Hi Rod welcome to the site. Quite a big undertaking for a first project.

Hi Rod
Good to see you are looking to do more of the body in aluminum. I have been following your Lotus Eleven build for some time now and am sure your metal shapin g will be of the same great quality as the rest of the build. Did you ever modify the back of the frame to the S2 spec.? |
Welcome to the club, from another BC boy. Just across the stream in Delta.
