Hello from Minnesota!
Hi, my name is Steve. I live near Minneapolis and am new to metal shaping.
I am trying to restore a 1959 MGA. The body is pretty rusty, although new panels are available they are quite expensive and I understand that they seldom fit properly. I enjoy building things myself anyway and am not in a rush to finish. This seems like a good place to get inspiration, to learn and get help when I get stuck. |
welcome
Hi steve, quite a few guys here would have restored MGAs. I bought all the internal panels for a restoration from Kilmartin Automotive in Aussie. pretty good panels but if you had a swager and a folder and the time they can all be hand made a home.

Welcome Steve!
A good start in shaping is using sub-par reproduction panels and "correct" the flaws. |
Hello Steve, welcome to allmetalshaping. I restored an MGA years ago 'twas a real difficult job becasue all the panels were available a lot cheaper than I could make them but when we bought them they did not fit. We started with the chassis and front and rear sections nothing in the middle so that made the job harder. Good luck with it.
