Hello all
My name is Ray & I grew up and live on the family farm in Grand River, Iowa. Started building stuff in Jr. High in a dirt floor machine shed. Most of it my Dad was reluctant to ride on or in. Left home to seek fame & fortune, returned several years later, went to college, married, farmed, got a job in town, built a house, and raised three kids. Finally working on my dream shop that my family & I built. Have several projects sitting around like a '34 Dodge pickup that needs sheet metal. My only experiance is chasing dents around with a torch & hammer/dolly. Apologize for not having much to offer but truely appreciate the opportunity to learn from all of you. Thanks

Hi Ray and welcome!:)

Hello Ray, welcome to allmetalshaping!. Sounds like you are ready to start on some sheet metal. My advice is to practice on small pieces of steel and try to create various shapes. You don't need lots of machines to get started. Its possible to learn the techniques of creating compound curves, thowing flanges, welding, stretching and shrinking, wire edging and so on using small offcuts before you start on you cars body panels.
