Wannabe Tin Bender From NC

My name is Bob Evans, known as "Fly" by the majority of my friends. I live in Jacksonville, NC. I'm not totally new sheetmetal work (I've fixed what what was damaged on my POVs and I'm a former helicopter mechanic (14 yrs)), but I dang sho aint no expert. I have a '34 Chevy 3W coupe that I'm building and I've been putting off cutting the quarters out of my '33 5W to fix the '34. I've seen some amazing metal work done by folk and good portion of them referenced this site as place for knowledge. I joined so that I could tap into the experience of the subject matter experts and possibly learn to make my own quarter panels and other stuff and perhaps save both coupes.

Bob, welcome and thanks for the introduction. Hope you find the site helpful and enjoyable. Thanks for joining us. Hope you don't have to cut up the 33 to save the 34.

Hi Bob, welcome to allmetalshaping! I thought you might like to see a '33 I made the metalwork for a few years ago. I made every part of the body you can see in the photo except the yellow part of the door frame and part of the roof.

Its possible to make just about anything. If you need any advice just ask and people will help.

Thanks for the welcome all! David, that's a great looking '33. David, I have your DVD and it's an investment that I'm glad I made. The grassroots methods that you demonstrate are just what I need and I hope the DVD or my DVD Player don't wearout too soon from all the replaying I've been doing.
