Historical info needed

We purchased an 'early 50's Midget racer designed in a Kurtis style' at the Spring Auburn by Auctions America. It has a VIN # and some numbers on the engine block. Clarinetist Pete Fountain autographed the dash.
It can be seen at www.rollingart@hargray.biz under "Midget Racer".
We're looking for any clues to it's identity. One eBay seller with similar car thought it might be. 46-47 Hillengass. Have already enjoyed the archived newsletters and look forward to all the expertise and knowledge of the participants.

Best wishes, Peter

Peter, check your PM's. I sent you the phone number for Stan Lobitz. If he doesn't know, I bet he knows who does.

I think Pete Fountain is still alive and probably still lives in the New Orleans area.

Thanks Gentlemen

We did find a son of Pete Fountain in New Orleans, but he had unlisted number. We'll try some club contacts on Boubon Street to follow that clue.

Have call into Stan Lobitz and look forward to his input.

Added some more photos at the web site that may help with identity. The 4-cylinder Ford engine is stamped "FoMoCo", haven't yet found the engine number. Where might it typically be located?

Thanks again for the input.
