Greetings from the Ozarks.

My name is Monty.

I'm an airplane type, and I like metal working. So far mostly machining, welding and such. I live in Fayetteville Arkansas. I am learning about sheet metal work. So far I have a nice older 4 foot kick shear I bought, and a horrible freight planishing hammer.

I have an old CJ that I am currently restoring for the umpteenth time, a little airplane I want to build, and I'm currently working on the cooling baffles for my 1956 C172.

I see there is a MS presence here.

I spent some time in "The Pass". Hope to get down to Delacroix to catch some specks in the next month or so.

Lived in Long Beach and Diamondhead for a while, went to South Natchez HS for my freshman and sophomore years, and spent some time cleaning up the mess after Katrina, mostly in Waveland...or what was left of it.

So here I am.

Monty You need to look up Jim Younkin Springdale Ark Airport...He built Mr Muliken Marvel Mystrey Ship and restored 5 beach stagerwings all at one time..I built his power hamer for him at that time...He has all the toys and is a good guy to talk to.....Tell him Barry Larson from Mn said hello......Barry

Barry,

Jim and I have crossed paths from time to time. I think I would sweep his shop and polish the floor just to catch a few crumbs of knowledge here and there.

Unfortunately the nature of my job keeps me so busy I don't have much time. We used to be in the same EAA chapter, but I just didn't have time to make the meetings with any regularity.

If I get stuck and nobody here can help me, I'll take my mangled workpiece to Springdale and look pathetic. I'll drop your name at that point. That will probably get better results than showing up empty handed with a million questions.

I may stop by to see if they have a brake long enough to handle my wing spar channels, and a shrinker that can do my 1/4 by 2 inch angle center spar caps. I just don't have a frequent enough use for something like that to spend the required ca$h.
